Small Employer Health and Safety Management Course (SECOR)

Classroom Course

This one-day course is designed to provide small employers (companies with no more than 10 employees) with information to assist in developing and maintaining a cost-effective Health & Safety Management System. This course is a required component of the Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR)™ Program.

Course topics include:

  • purpose and benefits of an effective health and safety program
  • Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation
  • safety roles, responsibilities and accountability
  • hazard assessment and control
  • developing a standard Health & Safety Management System
  • completing the Small Employer Health & Safety Management evaluation tool
  • obtaining and maintaining the Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR)™
  • revising, updating and maintaining the Health & Safety Manual

Certification:

this course has a written exam component. Participants must acheive a minimum score of 80% for course certification.
